Geraldinne - Geraldinne is the vibrant and happy soul who keeps Blom buzzing with energy. As a shop assistant, she’s the friendly face both in-store and on deliveries, making every customer interaction memorable. Her cheerful nature and readiness to chat, laugh, and assist makes her a beloved member of the team and a favorite among clients. Zintle - Zintle is Chrissie’s right hand at Blom, playing a key role in maintaining the cleanliness and quality of the flowers. Her passion and confidence infuse the workspace with vibrant energy, making her a beloved part of the team. Zintle’s upbeat personality and knack for bringing laughter to the Blommies ensure a positive and enjoyable atmosphere every day.

 Celebrating the women behind blom - Naela
Meet Naela, one of the incredible women who make Blom bloom! Naela joined our team right after finishing school, starting out with packing chairs and helping with wedding setups. She quickly showed her dedication and knack for making things run smoothly. Fast forward to today, and Naela is our superstar warehouse manager! In her role, Naela keeps everything behind the scenes in top shape. From ensuring our gifting and stock are always top-notch to overseeing the art of flower drying and preserving, she’s got it all covered. Her attention to detail ensures our products always look and feel amazing. But Naela doesn’t stop there. She’s also expanded her skills by taking courses in resin art and pressing flowers. Her creative touch and continuous learning help us offer unique and beautiful products. Naela’s journey from a helping hand to a key team player is nothing short of inspiring. We’re so grateful for her hard work, creativity, and all the magic she brings to Blom every day. Cheers to Naela—our behind-the-scenes hero who makes everything bloom beautifully! This Women’s Day week, we shine a spotlight on the remarkable women who drive the success and spirit of Blom, our beloved flower store. Among these incredible women stands Chrissie, whose journey with Blom is a story of dedication, growth, and excellence. Chrissie’s involvement began in the early days when she worked alongside Suzanne, assisting in setting up weddings and meticulously cleaning and sorting stock. Her attention to detail and commitment quickly became apparent. Recognizing her potential, Chrissie transitioned to a role focused on maintaining the quality of Blom’s flowers, ensuring that every bouquet and arrangement met the high standards that our customers have come to expect. Chrissie’s passion, hard work and enthusiasm led her to take on more significant responsibilities, and she now proudly serves as the manager of Blom. In this role, Chrissie not only oversees daily operations but also inspires and leads our team with the same dedication and care that she has shown from the beginning. To further hone her skills and bring even more creativity and expertise to Blom, Chrissie recently completed training with some of the most renowned names in floristry, including Anli Wahl and Kadou. Chrissie’s journey is a testament to the power of passion and perseverance. Her story is one of continuous learning and growth, and her achievements are a source of pride for everyone at Blom. She exemplifies the strength, resilience, and creativity that we celebrate on Women’s Day. Sandra-Mae’s journey with Blom officially began in 2023, but her connection to the world of creativity started long before. Growing up, she helped her mom, Suzanne at markets, wedding setups, and later in store. Today, Sandra-Mae is our go-to person for all things in-store operations. She keeps everything running smoothly and brings a burst of creativity to our social media, engaging with our community in fun ways. She also leads our workshops and training, sharing her expertise and passion for floristry with others. Behind the scenes, Sandra-Mae ensures every detail is perfect, making our designs shine. Her background in makeup artistry adds a unique touch to her work. With experience in everything from special effects to stage makeup, Sandra-Mae’s artistic flair enhances our floral creations. She’s also trained with top florists like Jill Manson, Mabel M, Anli Wahl, and Kadou, keeping our designs fresh and exciting. We’re proud to celebrate Sandra-Mae and all the amazing women at Blom. At the heart of Blom lies a woman with a passion for flowers and a dream that blossomed into a thriving business. Meet Suzanne, the owner and founder of Blom, whose vision and dedication has turned a small idea into a beloved community flower shop. Suzanne’s journey into the world of floristry began in 2016, when she entered the wedding and event industry. Her keen eye for design and understanding of floral arrangements quickly set her apart. With each wedding and special event she worked on, Suzanne’s reputation for creating stunning and memorable floral displays grew. When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, the entertainment industry, including weddings and events, was at a standstill for a combined ten months. Suzanne saw an opportunity to pivot and bring her artistry to a broader audience. She opened her first shop in the Creative Cube, a bold move that laid the foundation for what Blom would become. Suzanne’s resilience and innovative spirit paid off. Her shop quickly gained a loyal following, and in February 2022, expanded to a new location in Tablebay Mall. This move marked a significant milestone for Suzanne and her team, who had worked tirelessly to grow the business during such uncertain times. Under Suzanne’s leadership, Blom has flourished. Her dedication to her craft and her commitment to excellence are evident in every petal and leaf. Suzanne’s ability to convey emotions through flowers, whether it’s for a joyful celebration or a moment of solace, has made Blom a cherished part of the community. Beyond her talent with flowers, Suzanne is known for creating a nurturing environment for her team. She encourages creativity and growth, ensuring that every arrangement leaving Blom is a testament to quality and care. Suzanne’s hands-on approach and personal touch has earned her a place in the hearts of her customers and colleagues alike.
