Also known as Peruvian lily, Parrot lily and Inca lily originates from South America and last well in a vase, there is about 50 different species.  This flower is a beautiful filler flower, it has no sent, which makes it perfect for people with allergies. It is also available all year round.

According to Bloom and Wild, The alstroemeria flower has an array of meanings depending on the colour. But the beautiful blooms always connect to a similar meaning of friendship, love, strength and devotion.

They’re often thought to represent mutual support. And the ability to help each other through the trials and tribulations of life. So for this reason, they’re the perfect flower to say ‘I’ve got your back’ or ‘thank you for being my rock’.

While they’ve traditionally been thought of as a friendship flower, they’ve recently become a romantic flower. And a popular choice for bridal bouquets and wedding flowers!

The meaning behind alstroemeria derived from the six beautiful petals of the flower. Each petal represents a different characteristic: understanding, humour, patience, empathy, commitment and respect. Their twisted leaves are also a symbol of bonding, stability and overcoming difficulties together.

Care Instructions

When you receive or get home with your Alstroemeria stems, trim the stems on an angle and place the stems in fresh water. Alstroemeria flowers love a little light, but not too much. The best place for them is on a table near a windlow, somewhere with a little morning sun and a shade later in the day.

Avoid any window sills, the sunshine through the glass will dehydrate your flowers and make them fade faster than they should!
